WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

The majority of my work is done at legal aid rates and to legal aid regulations.

WHICH AREAS DO YOU COVER?
I cover the North of England, coast to coast, up to the Scottish border. Travel costs are charged at legal aid rates of £40 per hour and 45p per mile.
DO I HAVE TO TRAVEL A LONG WAY TO ASSESSMENT APPOINTMENTS?
The majority of my work is undertaken via face to face assessment appointments. These usually take place at local authority premises or solicitors' offices, close to the location of the person being assessed. Occasionally, home visits may be appropriate. Once the bulk of the face to face work is complete, it may be possible to complete the assessment by video or telephone call. Some people, particularly young people, may have a preference for face to face work only, and I am happy to facilitate this.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL IT TAKE?
This is the most difficult question to answer! Most assessments require 2-3 appointments. Sometimes, people want to have one long appointment (lasting several hours). Other people, particularly children, prefer to split the work into shorter sessions. I am happy to facilitate whatever works best for the person and family I am working with.
